Operation Orange Cranberry White Chocolate Cookie, M&S style
Attempt: 1
Nickname: Operation Procrastination
Comment: More like a biscotti than a cookie, but tastes quite nice. For some reason the white chocolate chips bubbled out of the cookie and formed those bumps on the cookie
I'm from sunny Singapore, and I'm finally old enough to vote! Being a year three History major with precious little extra time, what time I do have I share between my interests, especially cooking, specifically baking. Food bloggers bring a whole new dimension to home cooking, and I want to play. Many of the fantastic pictures on this blog would have been taken by my talented photographer sister, and those taken by me can be identified by their poorer quality =)
I cook with little reverence for strict measurements and cookbooks. Cooking, either for oneself or for company, should not be about following the recipe to the very word. It is much better to understand the reasoning behind the instructions given in the recipe. Then, one can follow those that have a purpose and tweak other elements to their own preference. This is also important because certain ingredients are not available everywhere, and I almost never let a missing ingredient or two prevent me from trying out a recipe I want, and I hope the readers won't too. Improvisation is afterall the mother of invention. =)
I know some cook books make a fuss about altitude and temperature and how they are suppose to affect the results. Have not really found any proof of such things, but just for the heck of it, Singapore's a tropical country [and we are not in China, but in Southeast Asia, thank you very much] and as flat as a pancake, except for the occasional piles of earth we politely call hills.
That's about it, please feel free to leave comments, and I hope someone enjoys the blog!
